Well we just got the new bridge open outside of New Carlisle!!!! You just don’t realize how much you use something like that until you don’t have it. A bridge that is so important to connect access to places. Speaking of bridges, one of our local banks has a sign up front that states... BE THE BRIDGE. What an important statement. We can be the person who helps bring people back together, we can be that connection.
Life and circumstances can break up families, relationships, and even positions in our employment fields. Some distances are created by grudges, or simply the unwillingness of one person to take the first step to make amends. Some people go for years without speaking or seeing one and another. Life is just too short for that.
Sometimes all it takes for these situations is for us to be the bridge to connect them. We can be that person who takes the time and effort to make them better. We can be that person that maybe has a surprise dinner for the two sides, or the person who talks to one and the other to mend the differences. It sure is worth what it takes to make their lives and our’s better. We can be the bridge, the means of connecting one to the other.
Sometimes we need someone to simply be there, not to fix anything in particular but just to let them feel that you are there for them.
It would be great if we all would learn to create a world where everyone looks out for one and another giving care through kindness and compassion.
We can never go back over a bridge that has been destroyed, but we can make a new bridge to pass over and connect people to other people. So in closing, BE THE BRIDGE........PAY YOUR GOOD FORWARD.....YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.
