Despite the rain and unseasonable temperatures on Saturday, National Trails Parks and Recreation District sponsored the annual Woofstock event in Snyder Park near the new Central Bark Dog Park.

On hand for the fun was Dr. Dana King and his wife Judy who started the program to benefit the Red Cross.  As times changed and the Red Cross moved away from the annual event, the proceeds now benefit Wiggley Field and Central Bark, both operated by NTPRD.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests and their loyal companions enjoyed free treats and special offers from vendors located around the grounds of the former golf clubhouse.  Food trucks provided food for the event.

Also on hand was the Humane Society Serving Clark County with adoptable dogs and discounts on microchipping.  The Humane Society will be having another event this coming weekend at the Brandeberry Winery as they celebrate Dogtoberfest, a major fundraiser for the organization.  The fun starts at 12 and ends at 5.  Raffles, music and vendors highlight the event as well as the release of a new wine.  The Humane Society will also have adoptable dogs on hand in hopes of finding their forever home.
