City manager Randy Bridge lifted this ban on Sunday, June 5 at 10:00am

City Manager Randy Bridge cancelled the boil advisory around 10am on Sunday June 5. No details were given but the City Manager did say that residents would be notified that the water is safe through Clark County's Hyper-reach system.

City manager Randy Bridge lifted this ban on Sunday, June 5 at 10:00am

The City of New Carlisle issued the following statement on Friday, June 3:

“Due to the possibility of unsafe water, you are directed by the City of New Carlisle, to immediately start BOILING ALL DRINKING WATER taken from the public water system. This includes water for drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth, or any other activity involving consumption of water.

Water should be brought to a full boil for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure that it is safe for consumption. Boiled water may be stored at room temperature or refrigerated in a closed container until needed.”

City Manager Randy Bridge says that the boil advisory is a per-cautionary measure.

Service Director Howie Kitko released the following statement:

“The City of New Carlisle Tested water for Bacteria on 6/2/16 and it came back Total Coliform Positive. This is an indicator of possible bacteria present. As a precaution we are collecting additional samples from the distribution system and all of the City production wells. This notice will be in effect until further notice. The City of Eaton will be testing our additional samples on Saturday so I will keep you advised. The test is required to incubate for 24 hours so it will be sometime Sunday with the new results.”
