NewScoutTecumseh Council, Boy Scouts of America, headquartered in Springfield, Ohio welcomed Rob Lavoie as its new Scout Executive and Chief Executive Officer on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. As Scout Executive/CEO Rob is responsible for the day to day operations of the Council and Camp Hugh Taylor Birch located near Yellow Springs, and provides support to the Scouting program for the 3,100 plus youth members and 1,200 registered adult volunteers in the council. Tecumseh Council is responsible for providing a quality Scouting program for the youth of Logan, Champaign, Clark, Greene, and Clinton Counties. Rob is looking forward to working with the many talented volunteer leaders throughout the Tecumseh Council. Rob says “We have a fantastic foundation to build the future leaders of the community”.

Most recently Rob was the Scout Executive of the Desoto Area Council in El Dorado, Arkansas. Previously in his 25 year professional Scouting career Rob has also served in Pittsburgh, PA and Virginia Beach, VA.

Rob is an Eagle Scout who enjoys camping, soccer, basketball, swimming, and running. Rob and his wife Laura have three children, a son who is a student at North Carolina State University and two daughters one of which will be entering The Ohio State University in the fall.
