TAC received notification of their award of ODOT/FTA funding. TAC was awarded two 16 passenger, 2 wheelchair accessible Light Transit Vehicles, hardware, routing software, and vehicle GPS system to complement the new software purchase. TAC's Federal award of $120,238, coupled with 20% match will provide a total of $150, 298 for the purchases.

The Specialized Transportation Program is intended to enhance mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities by providing Federal Transit Administration funds for programs in small urbanized and rural areas that serve the special needs of transit-dependent populations beyond traditional public transportation services and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complementary paratransit services. The program provides 80% of the cost of capital projects; the remaining 20% must be provided by local funding.

TAC has been a provider of transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities since 2013. To this point, TAC has primarily been providing transportation to individuals on TAC’s 2nd shift. However, due to recent changes at the state and county level, TAC is expanding its offerings to 1st shift in the coming month. This award will allow TAC to obtain the necessary vehicles and support to assist this expansion.
