At the April 27, 2016 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners, the commissioners issued four proclamations to individuals who have successfully completed the Opportunities for New Direction (OND) program in preparation for their release. As a result, the successful candidates are now working and contributing to the good of our community.

The OND program is a division of Opportunities for Individual Change (OIC) of Clark County. OND provides family re-entry services to ex-offenders returning to the Springfield/Clark County community. The agency provides job readiness training, peer mentoring, computer skills training and job placement.

The commissioners also recognized the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Madison, Green and Clark Counties as a Community Leader. The Board provides Mental Health, Drug, and Alcohol Counseling to program participants to address issues that may have played a part in the initial incarceration.

In addition, the Commissioners recognized Pentaflex, Inc. for their continued support and hiring of graduates of the program. OIC re-entry coordinator Brad Andringa said, “Pentaflex recognizes that not every graduate of the program will succeed; however, they willingly continue to hire our graduates and give them the opportunity to become productive citizens.”
