On Friday September 25th, 2015 Members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Incinerated 150 Pounds of unused, unwanted and expired medications.

The attached photos show the 150 pounds of medications in brown paper bags about to be incinerated.  The photos also show the portable incinerator. 

The process to incinerate the 150 pounds of medications took five (5) hours.   135 pounds of the medications came from the Drug Take Back Box located at the Sheriff’s East District Office at 3130 East Main st. inside the Springview Government Center. The other drugs (15 Pounds) were turned into the Drug Take Back Van at different locations in Clark County. The drugs were collected from January 2015 thru September of 2015. 

The Drug Take Back Van will be in front of the United Senior Services Building at 101 South Fountain ave. Springfield, Ohio on Thursday October 15th, 2015 from 1pm. to 4pm. during the USS Health and Wellness Conference.  Please bring your unused, unwanted or out dated medications to USS on October 15th, 2015.   You can also drop off your medications at the Public Safety Building 120 North Fountain ave. Springfield 24 hours a day 7 days a week on the second floor in the lobby.  Also in Enon in the Lobby of the Municipal building Monday through Friday 8am. to 5pm. and at the German Township Police Department located at 3940 Lawrenceville Drive Monday through Friday 8am. to Noon.

Average pill weight is 100 milligrams

450,000 milligrams is a pound

Take the total pounds weighed, multiply by 450,000

Then divide by 100

150lbs. X 450,000 = 67,500,000

67,500,000 divided by 100 = 675,000 pills in 150 Pounds.

Street value of $675,000.00
