Clark County Commissioners approved a contract with Norwoods Consulting Partners, Inc. to purchase and provide maintenance for Compass Software from February 29, 2016 through February 28, 2017 for $225,500 for the Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS). The Compass Software automates client and case information for DJFS Caseworkers based on how caseworkers use it. It streamlines tasks and reduces paperwork. According to the vendor, the software saves caseworkers an average of 2 hours per day.

The commissioners also amended the contract with Innovative Family Supports, Inc. to increase the length of the contract to allow additional time for clients to transfer to a new service provider. The contract for $263,802, which was due to expire on December 31, 2015, is extended through February 29, 2016.

They also approved the appointment of Amanda Martin to the OhioMeansJobs Advisory Board for DJFS.

Jerri Taylor and Rick Smith were appointed as full members to the County Board of Zoning Appeals effective January 1, 2016 with terms to expire December 31, 2019. Commissioners also appointed Paul Hazlett as a full member to the board effective January 1, 2016 with his term to expire October 29, 2018.

Commissioners acknowledged receipt of an expedited Type 2 Annexation Petition for 8.092 acres at 2500 Signal Hill Road in Moorefield Township to the City of Springfield. The request was made by John and Linda Bruce to provide water and sewer service to the private residence at that location.

Commissioners accepted a grant from County Employee Benefits Consortium of Ohio (CEBCI) for $22,408 to develop and implement programs and activities targeted towards improving the health and wellness of Clark County’s employees. The grant covers salary and wages of the county wellness program coordinator effective January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. This is the third year the county has received the grant.

The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is scheduled for January 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Offices at 50 E. Columbia Street. The commissioners will address annual organizational concerns at this meeting. The following meeting on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 will be dedicated to approving the 2016 budget and appropriations.
