At the May 19, 2016 meeting of the Bethel Township Miami Trustees, the trustees approved the renewal of the Township’s health insurance with United Health Care for Health and Life Insurance. As part of the resolution, the trustees agreed to contribute $3200 for single employees and $6200 for employees with a family plan for a health savings account (HSA) or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) plan for elected officials and full time employees.

In addition, the trustees accepted the Resignation of Brittney Stubner from the Fire Department.

Township Administrator Andy Ehrhart reported that the Fire Department responded to 28 calls from April 16, 2016 through May 6, 2016. They were called to two building fires and a brush fire. In addition, they responded to 18 emergency medical calls including one motor vehicle accident with injuries.

For Planning and Zoning Planning and Zoning Administrator Marty Caskey reported that he issued one building permit for a new residence at 7727 E US 40. In addition, he received two rezoning requests that are in process. The first request is to rezone 3.154 acres at 4485 Scarff from A-2 Agriculture to R-1AAA Residential. The second request is to rezone 10 acres at 9885 Palmer from A-2 Agriculture to A-1 Agriculture. Caskey announced that the Bethel Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals would not meet in May as neither board has any cases to hear.

The next meeting of the Bethel Township Trustees is scheduled for May 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the township meeting room.
