At the August 9, 2016 meeting of the Bethel Township Trustees, the trustees recognized Fire Chief Andy Ehrhart for 30 years of service to the department. They presented Ehrhart with a fire helmet engraved with his name and years of service that he has given to the community. In addition to serving as the Fire Chief, Ehrhart serves the township as the township administrator.

For the Fire Department, Ehrhart reported that the department made 18 runs between July 23, 2016 and August 5, 2016. Caskey also announced that The Bethel Zoning Commission has two amendments pending. The first is to divide and rezone a 13-acre parcel at 8130 Palmer into a 10-acre parcel zoned A-2 General Agricultural and a 3-acre parcel zoned A-1 Domestic Agriculture. The second proposed rezoning splits a 20.937-acre parcel at 6160 US 40 into a 2.933-acre parcel that will remain A-2 General Agriculture with the remaining acres to be zoned B-3.
