Bethel Board of Zoning Appeals Approve Sign Request

The Bethel Board of Zoning Appeals approved request form the Iron Workers Local 290 to erect a sign at their headquarters location at 4191 US 40 for a sign that exceeds the township regulations by almost three times the sign. Initially the Iron Workers requested that the sign be erected on a post which close to 30 feet. However, after further investigation., Director of Planning an Zoning Marty Caskey realized that this was a violation of the maximum height for signs in Bethel Township.

The Iron Workers agreed to post the sign at the maximum specified height of 10 feet. The BZA then approved the request. However, the Iron Workers have expressed an interest in painting additional signage on the sides of their building, which would require addition exemptions from the zoning regulations of the community.
