At the March 23, 2017 meeting of the Bethel Township Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA), the board approved a conditional use request from Bethany Horn DVM to establish a veterinary clinic at 968 Bellefontaine Road. The request to rezone a 2.518-acre parcel from R-1AAA to B2-Business/Residential is conditional based on the approval of the BZA to grant this request.

Horn plans to remodel an existing 72 X 42-foot outbuilding for the clinic. She is working with the Miami County Health district to establish a separate septic system for the clinic. In addition, Horn will adhere to all the screening, parking plan and signage as well as building code regulations for the establishment of the clinic.

Neither the applicant nor anyone opposing the conditional use request attended the BZA meeting. The BZA unanimously approved the conditional use request.

The next meeting of the Bethel BZA is scheduled for April 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the township building. The BZA will hear a request from Gale Halderman of 6476 US 40 to establish a .56-acre parcel at that location with less frontage and less acreage than is currently allowed by the township zoning code.
