Constitution Day was celebrated throughout Tecumseh Schools on Thursday, September 17th, a day designated by Congress in 2005 for Americans to commemorate the signing of our Constitution.

Social Studies teachers addressed the significance of Constitution Day as part of their daily lessons; and on the morning announcements, Principal Ivan Gehret encouraged students to enhance their civic understanding by taking time to review the US Constitution, a living document whose survival depends upon each generation of Americans understanding, supporting, and actively promoting its principles and values. He also reminded students that the Constitution, originally written in 1787, established the framework of government that is still in place today.

Miss Maggie provided books and DVDs to help students learn about our very important U.S. Constitution. After instruction, students played a Constitution trivia game to win hot tickets. Donnelsville School thanks Miss Maggie!

For Constitution Day Mrs. Boyd’s class at Park Layne Elementary read a  poem, discussed the U.S. Constitution, and created their own Class Constitution with each student signing it. Students then created their own Constitution Day themed puzzles.
