Northwestern High School FFA American Degree Recipients: Brooke Weeks, Mikayla Storck, Sarah Baldwin, Shelby Lindner

The American Future Farmers of America (FFA) Degree is awarded to members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the FFA and made significant accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).

This year, Northwestern high school had four members receive this award (Brooke Weeks, Mikayla Storck, Sarah Baldwin, and Shelby Lindner). “It was a goal that I had to get the American degree and follow in my sisters’ footsteps”, said Lindner.

The American FFA Degree is awarded at the National FFA Convention & Expo each year to less than 1% of FFA members, making it one of the organization’s highest honors. This year the convention was held the week of October 17th, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In addition to their certificates, each recipient receives a gold American FFA Degree key.

In addition to the American degrees, Lindsay Fries was a National Agriscience Fair Finalist in the category Power, Structural and Technical Systems Division 2. This category encompasses the study of agricultural equipment, power systems, alternative fuel sources and precision technology, as well as woodworking, metalworking, welding and project planning for agricultural structures.
