The camp is available for children who have completed Kindergarten -6th grade. Children will participate in weekly field trips and the Girl Scouts and OSU Extension office will by providing programming. Breakfast and a snack provided, children must bring their own lunch. The cost is $120 per week, or $30 per day. This camp is available to families receiving financial assistance for child care from the Department of Job & Family Services. Camp Chiller - The ice skating themed day camp will introduce children ages 4-11 to ice skating as well as engage them in fun activities and projects. UKODA camp is a week-long camp for hearing children of deaf or hard of hearing adults/guardians. This week not only teaches the child teamwork through various activities, but allows the child to interact with other Koda’s who have had similar experiences growing up. It’s a special place for the child to build life-long friendships. Camp is held at YMCA Camp Kern, Oregonia Ohio and there is no cost to campers. Space is limited. This is a 5-day course in Traffic Safety for children (ages 5-6) living in the City of Springfield who will be attending kindergarten or first grade in September. There are 2 classes each day, from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. & from 1:00 p.m.-3:30 pm. Simon Kenton will host weeks beginning June 13-July 15 and Horace Mann will host August 1-5. Each child attends one class daily, choosing either the morning or afternoon classes. The class is offered free. Springfield Dream Soccer - Springfield Thunder Soccer Club, Clark County Special Olympics and Rotary Club of Springfield will hold its 12th Annual Dream Soccer Tournament for kids with physical and/ or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Mediation for TeensU is for 7PthP-12PthP grade students from city and county schools including home schooling. It will be held June 7 & 9, 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in room 105 of the Shouvlin Center at Wittenberg University. Students trained during this two-day workshop will apply their skills as mediators and teen aides in the classrooms during Peace Camp. These students will then take the mediation training back to their schools. Students can receive community service hours and mediation training by the Peace Center, City of Springfield Mediation service and the Clark County Common Pleas Court Mediation service.
