Crystal Lake Gun Club was chosen in 1946 to host the 60th annual Ohio State Trapshoot. The shoot attracted a record field being the largest in the country except for the annual Grand American with prizes totaling $1585 in cash along with trophies. Some of the leading marksmen in the country attended the four-day event. H. J. Mollencamp from Columbus, OH, won the Ohio Handicap Championship breaking 100 straight targets from the 22-foot line. 15 year old Joe Devers from Dayton, OH, won, All-Around Ohio champion with a total of 384. Mrs. H. B. Rader, of Jeffersonville, OH, won the Ohio Handicap Championship in the women’s division.
