Residents in and around New Carlisle can take advantage of the second affordable Rabies Clinic being sponsored by the Clark County Combined Health District on September 22 from 4-7 pm at Park Layne Elementary School located at 12355 Dille Road.

The clinic is offering $10 rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats and ferrets. This is a requirement for all pets in our community. If you can bring proof of a current vaccination your pet can receive a 3 year vaccine. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier and under their owner’s control.

At the first clinic held September 8, the Health District vaccinated 181 animals. You do not need to be in line at 4 pm. The clinic has plenty of vaccine for everyone and arriving randomly is best.

The Humane Society Serving Clark County, Inc. will also be available to microchip your cat or dog. The cost is just $15 and insures that your pet can find their way home if lost 24/7/365. The regular cost is $25. At the first event, 37 pet owners participated in this program to help increase the number of pets who find their way home in our area each year.

If you have questions, call the Health District at 390-5600.
