We need YOU to help name one of the Clark County Park District’s natural preserves. We have recently expanded the park property in the Spangler Road area and are looking for creative ideas to help name the large reserve. The Estel Wenrick Wetlands (shown in red on map) will remain that name in recognition of the Wenrick family’s generous donation. The site to be named (shown in green on map) encompasses over 200 acres including the areas known as Leadingham Prairie and the newly acquired parcels along the Mad River. This preserve is teaming with wildlife, songbirds, insects, butterflies and plants like the endangered Prairie Fringed Orchid. There is also much history in this area – do you know the stories? If you come up with a history-based name, please tell us the background behind the name. Be creative, share with friends and have fun! A $25 Speedway gift card will be rewarded to the entry that inspires the name chosen for this preserve.

All suggestions are to be turned in by Wednesday, December 21 at 4:00 PM.
