Educators can learn activities for teaching about water runoff, wetlands, water cycle, watersheds and more during a free workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, in the Davidson Interpretive Center, 5638 Lower Valley Pike (next to George Rogers Clark Park).

The workshop will teach activities from two curriculum guides. “Healthy Water Healthy People” addresses science standards through activities that link water-quality topics to real-life experiences. “WOW: The Wonders of Wetlands” provides 70 pages of background material, 40 activities, and a guide to creating a school wetland habitat. Each workshop participant will receive a copy of these books.

The Clark County Parks District and Clark County Solid Waste District are sponsoring the workshop. An Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant will pay for substitute fees. Lunch will be provided free to all participants.

The workshop is open to any educator, but space is limited to 25 participants. Information and registration forms are available at www.32trash.org or by calling Steve Schlather, 521-2022. Please register no later than March 1.

One hour of graduate credit through Wittenberg University is available by attending the workshop, completing at least six hours of additional work, and paying a tuition fee of $185.
