Cub Scout Pack 338 is collecting aluminum cans and can top tabs to support two causes in the community. They are collecting aluminum cans to recycle to establish a program at Tecumseh Local Schools to provide extra milk for students who want extra milk with their lunches or for students who cannot afford to purchase the milk.

The pack will collect all aluminum cans from anyone who would like to donate them to the cause. They will then crush the cans and take them to a recycling center. The money from the recycled cans will then be donated to the school system to purchase extra milk for students who want or need the milk.

If you would like to help by donating cans, you can contact Cindy Nischwitz at (937) 701-4578. She will pick up the donated items or make arrangements for items to be dropped off.

In addition, the troop is also collecting tabs from any type of can. The tabs will be donated to Children’s Medical Center in Dayton to help care for families while their children receive much-needed medical treatment. The tabs are recycled and the money donated to the Ronald McDonald House that supports the parents of children treated at Children’s Hospital in Dayton.

Both programs will be sponsored by Cub Scout Pack 338 throughout the summer. Nischwitz said, “These programs not only help our community but teach our cub scouts a valuable lesson in helping their community.”
