A two car accident Wednesday afternoon forced the closure of New Carlisle Pike and North Hampton Road around 5:20 p.m.

According to witnesses, a pickup truck was eastbound on New Carlisle Pike when a small blue car turned left into the truck’s path.

The truck skidded on the wet pavement, went sideways, took out a utility pole and came to rest in a yard.

The top assembly of the utility pole was hanging by wires.

Both roads will be closed until Ohio Edison arrives to make repairs.
