The voters of New Carlisle supported their city by overwhelmingly voting against a change in the way New Carlisle collects income taxes. New Carlisle resident Kelli Bartlett circulated a petition that placed a proposed tax credit on the ballot for those who live in the city but work in another municipality that also has an income tax.
Voters supported the City of New Carlisle by voting against the proposed tax credit 669 to 330. “We are overjoyed that the citizens of New Carlisle supported their city” said City Manager Randy Bridge of the decision by voters to keep the income tax in place.
Had the issue been successful, the City of New Carlisle would have lost approximately 60 percent of their general fund revenue. “We will work diligently to make New Carlisle an even better place to live and work” said Bridge.
