Local Choirs Bringing Big Night of Music to Community

The Christmas season has arrived in New Carlisle with all its trimmings, including music. To celebrate, the New Carlisle Area Community Chorus (NCACC) and New Carlisle’s Celebration Christian Choir (CCC) will bring New Carlisle an evening of music, fun, and fellowship as they join forces to present a combined Christmas concert for one night only at 6:00 pm on Dec. 17 in the Tecumseh High School auditorium.

The concert is free with general seating. Proceeds from a love offering taken during the concert will be donated to IMPACT Bethel.

The NCACC Chorus will be performing its 33rd annual Christmas program; this year’s title is “Letters to Santa.” Chorus members have made very personal contributions to the program’s music by writing their personal wishes to Santa Claus. They will be sending their wishes to the North Pole through song during the concert.

The CCC will be performing its second annual Christmas show. Choir members hail from New Carlisle’s Church of the Brethren, First United Methodist Church (UMC), Honey Creek Presbyterian Church, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The CCC will be presenting a more traditional, religious program of scripture lessons and Christmas carols. Handbell choirs from the First UMC and Church of the Brethren will also be featured.

The NCACC is directed by Taylor Ball. Ball and Kelly Williams co-direct the CCC. Ball comments the show is the most ambitious Christmas concert New Carlisle will have seen in many years.

“This is my fifth year directing the Christmas program with the Community Chorus. With two choirs and multiple instruments this year; this will be the biggest program we have put on since I’ve been directing. It will be a lot of fun for kids of all ages!”

Veteran Community Chorus member, Cindi Cook, encourages folks to make the concert part of their Christmas celebration, “This concert will help give a real boost to everyone’s Christmas spirit. Our letters to Santa and, of course, hearing everyone’s favorite Christmas music will make this concert a lot of fun for everyone. We are all really looking forward to the performance.”
