State Highway Patrol investigates a fatal crash on Dayton-Springfield Rd.

 The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash.  The crash occurred on Dayton Springfield Road just west of Cold Springs Road.

At approximately 6:30 pm on October 20th, 2018 a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander minivan driven by Linda K. Camp 71, of Springfield was traveling westbound on Dayton Springfield Road.  Mrs. Camp drove left of the center line and struck a 2001 Lexus LX470 SUV driven by Margaret I. Wagner, 27 of Oakwood head-on.     

Mrs. Camp was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center by Mad River Township EMS where she was pronounced deceased upon arrival.  Mrs. Camp had two juvenile female passengers in the vehicle who were unrestrained.  The eight year old juvenile was transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital by Fairborn EMS in serious condition.  The twelve year old juvenile was transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital by the Care Flight Mobile Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. 

Ms. Wagner was transported by Fairborn EMS to Miami Valley Hospital with minor injuries.  Her passenger Matthew A. Bierma 34, of Springfield was transported to Soin Medical Center with minor injuries.  The crash closed Dayton Springfield Road for approximately four hours.  Any inquiries reference the crash investigation can be directed to Trooper Jacob Lambdin of the Springfield Highway Post

The Springfield Post was assisted at the scene by the Mad River Township Fire and EMS, Fairborn EMS and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
