80, formerly of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Springfield. 

He was born March 16, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio the son of the late Joseph & Charlotte (Barnhart) Free.  Jerry served in the Air National Guard for three years.  He retired from Tecumseh School District.  He also worked for Ohio Edison, Wade Walsh, Hopkins Chevy Olds, Mershon’s World of Cars and Jeff Wyler, Springfield.   He was an avid car enthusiast owning and driving 73 cars in his lifetime. 

He is survived by his wife of   53 years, Cherryl Free; children, Doug & Patty Free, Shawn & Tanya Free; three three grandchildren, Zachary Hess, Sydney & Taylor Free; other relatives and friends.    

Visitation was 5-8 PM  Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, New Carlisle, Ohio.  Funeral services were 11 AM Tuesday in the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in Donnelsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society. Expressions of  sympathy may be sent to www.trostelchapman.com
