Starting his third year at the helm of the Northwestern baseball team, coach Todd Houseman knows that an improvement has to be made from last year’s 12-18 season.

Men and women from western Clark County’s business community officially kicked off a high school mentorship program last week by meeting the students with whom they’ll be meeting each week until the end of the school year.

Thirty-one local employers assembled in downtown Springfield last Thursday for a job fair held specifically for county eighth-grade students, with seven schools participating.
