It all came down to the final at-bat, and the Tecumseh baseball team was in position to pick up a huge league win.

With Jack Dague pitching a complete game two-hitter, the Arrows scored in their final at-bat to knock off Bellefontaine 1-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference game last week in New Carlisle.

Blais Hale was on third with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Chiefs pitcher unleashed a wild pitch, allowing Hale to score the games’ only run to give Tecumseh the slim victory.

Keaton Mohler had a double for the Arrows, one of only three hits on the day for the Arrows offense. Kyle McDonald earned two walks for the Arrows.

In their second game of the week against the Chiefs, Tecumseh again saw a 1-0 final, but in this one, they ended up on the short end. In both games, the two teams had to battle the elements from Mother Nature as the cold winter weather had to play through the elements including heavy wind.

Mohler had a double as the only highlight for the Arrows, as Tecumseh could only muster five hits in the loss.

Softball- Tecumseh lost a pair of games last week to Bellefontaine, falling 1-0 in their first of two games, and 9-2. The Arrows came back in a non-conference game to defeat Fairmont 9-8.

Jenny Wright and Ashley Fite were both 2-3 in the opener, and Jessica Wilson struck out 13 batters despite taking the loss.

In the second game against Bellefontaine, Wright was 2-4, Fite was 3-4 with an RBI, while Brooke Barger added the second run batted in. Fite had two strikeouts in four innings, and Wright pitched the remainder of the game with five strikeouts.

Tecumseh came back to defeat the Firebirds 9-8, as Fite went 2-4 with three RBIs, Izzy Fox was 1-1 with 2 RBIs, McKenzie Drew added a hit, Barger added two hits and an RBI.

Fite picked up the win for the Arrows.
