Coming off of a weekend where she became the new all-time homerun and RBI career leader at Tippecanoe, junior Kaity Stocker delivered again in the clutch for the Red Devils. Stocker hit a two-out three run double in the bottom of the sixth inning, putting the Red Devils in the lead for good and leading them to a 6-4 win over Tecumseh last week in a CBC league contest at Tippecanoe Middle School.

Tecumseh scored first in the second inning when Micaela Pierson doubled with one out, then later came into score on a wild pitch.

Just as quickly, Tipp tied the game when Sierra Sutton tripled to the right field wall, and when Meghan Kauffman doubled in pinch runner Paige Phillips, it was 1-1 after two innings.

The Arrows threatened in the third when senior Jessica Wilson singled and moved up when Jenny Wright reached on an error. But a ground out by Ashley Fite ended the inning for Tecumseh.

In the fourth, Tipp took the lead when Hailee Varvel singled and two outs later Kauffman walked. Taylor Haggerty then singled in Varvel to give the Red Devils a short lived 2-1 lead.

In the next inning, Tecumseh fought back. Mackenzie Drews led off with a walk and Julia Jones reached on a fielders choice. Wilson had another hit and Fite then drove in two runs with a double to give the Arrows a 3-2 lead.

Tecumseh added to their lead in the top of the sixth when Pierson singled to lead off, when with two outs, Drews singled her in to push the Arrows lead to 4-2 with time running out for the Red Devils.

In their half of the sixth, Tipp made their move. With one out, Kauffman singled, then with two outs, Shepherd reached on a single. Rachel Rusk drove in a run with a hit and when Maddie Gibler walked the bases were loaded for Stocker. That’s when she went to work.

The Tipp junior lined a double into right to score all three runs, and give Tippecanoe a 6-4 lead.

Sutton, who pitched a complete game for Tipp, took care of the Arrows in the seventh for the win. Suffering the loss was Wilson for Tecumseh, as she also pitched a complete game.

*The Arrows bounced back on Wednesday with a 4-3 victory over the Red Devils, behind five strikeouts from Fite. Wilson led the offense with two hits and three RBIs and a double, Fite also helped herself with an RBI, and Moyer was 2-3.

*Over on the baseball diamond, the Arrows could only muster three hits against the Red Devils, but had timely run production as they stunned Tippecanoe 2-1, to break the 10-game winning streak of the Red Devils.

Jack Dague earned his second win for the Arrows, pitching a complete game. Blais Hale had a big double for Tecumseh, and scored a run.

The next evening, the Red Devils defeated Tecumseh 4-0 behind the pitching of Aaron Hughes as he won his fourth game of the season. The Red Devils did most of their damage early scoring two runs in the second and a run in the third.

Kraska and Barhorst each had two hits for Tipp, while for Tecumseh, Hale was 2-3.
