Tecumseh FFA members are preparing for the General Livestock judging season. They started by traveling to Findlay, Ohio recently and participating in a General Livestock Judging Clinic hosted by University of Findlay students.

Reed Finfrock, Brenden Barger, and Ellie Gehret took the opportunity to get in a little practice and knock some of the rust off of their judging skill at the 2017 season’s first clinic and contest. The FFA members sat in on sessions taught by the University of Findlay’s Animal Science students, who coached the Tecumseh students by going over the qualities to look for in breeding and market sheep, as well as in goats, pigs, and cattle.

After a morning of listening and learning, each FFA member had the opportunity to practice their newfound skills at the Livestock Judging Contest organized by the university students. Tecumseh’s FFA will attend a Livestock Judging Contest every Saturday, beginning Feb. 25 through April 1, 2017.
