What a resume for the Tecumseh tennis team this season.

Shane Essick won a sectional tennis title on Saturday, as the Troy sophomore defeated Springfield’s Nick Pavlotos 6-4, 6-3 at the Dayton Center Courts.

Hunter Hensley had one of his best performances on the mound this season, as he pitched a complete game three-hitter and struck out ten, as Tecumseh defeated Piqua 5-1 in the opening round of the Division One Sectional Tournament on Wednesday on the road in Miami County.

Mother Nature may have postponed the first official track meet on the new track at Tecumseh High School, but she couldn’t stop the Tecumseh Arrows from a clean sweep last week in their first official event.

As the regular season comes to a close, the Tecumseh baseball team is playing their best baseball of the season putting together a string of victories last week, starting with a 14-6 rout of Springfield, which included an eight-run third inning to open the game for the Arrows.

Tecumseh edged Urbana by two points to win the Central Buckeye Conference Tournament last week at Northwestern.

Coming off of a weekend where she became the new all-time homerun and RBI career leader at Tippecanoe, junior Kaity Stocker delivered again in the clutch for the Red Devils.

Greenon senior Rachel Stute and Tecumseh’s Ross Warren each brought home two track championships, while Adam Riedinger from Northwestern captured one, as the Milton Union Bulldog Invitational was held last weekend in West Milton.

Tecumseh split a pair of non-conference baseball games against Xenia, as the Arrows defeated the Buccs 4-3 in the opener, before falling 11-6 in the nightcap.

The Tecumseh tennis team continued their solid play this season with a tough 3-2 victory over Catholic Central last week to earn their seventh win of the season.

Battling the weather conditions last week that cancelled the huge Troy Invitational on Friday, two other track meets were held during the week, as Tecumseh, Northwestern and Tippecanoe all saw action on the area tracks with some solid finishes.

It all came down to the final at-bat, and the Tecumseh baseball team was in position to pick up a huge league win.
