Do you believe in miracles? Have you ever experienced one firsthand? If you answered “yes” to the first question, I’m right with you.
If you answered “yes” to the second question, I would love to hear your story. The word “miracle” gets thrown around a lot, but I wonder how many people really grasp what it is. To say that it is a happening that beats all odds is a gross understatement. It’s really something that defies all the natural laws of the universe -- something only a supernatural God can produce. That’s big. And exciting. The kind of big and exciting that gives you chills when you think about it. And that’s what I’m looking for in 2012. Do I have a terminal illness that needs miraculous healing? Nope. At least, not one that I know of. Do I need a million dollars to fall from Heaven and land on my doorstep? Not particularly. But I do have a need in my life that, from every way I’ve looked at it, will take a miracle to fix. And, I’m willing to bet that some of you do too. The way I see it, 2012 is the perfect year to have it happen. I’ve always thought that God would like to do a lot more for us than He does, but He’s been waiting for us to trust Him enough to ask. There’s even a passage in Scripture that says “We have not, because we ask not.” That makes it pretty clear. There’s another passage that indicates that when we do ask, we need to have faith and really believe that He will answer. Do we have enough to faith to believe we’ll see a miracle happen in the New Year? That’s the big question. I guess I’m prepared to say that I believe it can happen, and that I will be looking for it to happen.  But I’ll have to do a little more work on being able to say for sure that I know it will happen. I must admit that my faith isn’t always as rock solid as it should be. How great would it be to be sitting here one year from now writing a column about the miracles I experienced in 2012. It really could happen, and I’m trying my hardest to believe that it will. If you need a miracle in your life, why not join me in asking for it and looking expectantly for it in 2012. Save the resolution making for another year. Let’s focus this next year on looking for a miracle. And while we’re waiting on that miracle to happen in our own lives, let’s see what we can do about helping to facilitate one in someone else’s life as well. Who knows? 2012 may just turn out to be the best year we’ve ever had! Thanks for giving me a moment of your time. Comments (0) |
