Bethel Superintendent

As you may already know, we have again been tightening our financial belts in many areas. Because of community meetings and your input, we will be bringing back two teaching positions.

These positions have been discussed at the community meetings and the community has indicated that they want these positions back.
We have listened. We’ll will be bringing back the technology and business teacher and the art teacher. We hope to bring back more after we are finished with this fiscal year.
As I write this, the governor has just approved five calamity days for this year.
We unfortunately missed nine days. Legislation allows us to make up days by extending the school day in half hour increments.
I will be asking the Board to approve a day to be made up by using this process.
School days from May 9 to May 23, 11 school days, will be extended by one half hour. Bethel Junior High and High School will be dismissed on those days at 3 p.m. Bethel Elementary will be dismissed at 3:45 p.m.
Our last three days will be made up May 31, June 1 and June 2. If you have any questions, please call the principal’s office.
Also, as you may know or heard during the past few months, several maintenance and renovation projects are scheduled for the summer.
To help things go smoothly for all, we need to coordinate the work being ‘done for those projects with the community’s use of our buildings and grounds.
Consequently, if you or your group is planning an activity in one of our buildings or on our grounds over the summer, please contact me or the building’s principal as soon as possible with details on that use. That information will help us avoid any conflicts between summer activities and the various projects
If you’ve already completed one of our “Building Use” forms to request the use of our facilities for your event, that’s great. If you haven’t, please pick up one of these forms in the office, complete the form, and return it to us as soon as possible.
If you plan to use our outside grounds for an event this summer, please let us know so that we can coordinate our projects and grounds care.
These improvements will also make our school more efficient and we will save operating cost with these improvements.
If you have any questions in the meantime, call me at 845-9414, email me at casseIl@bethel .k12.oh.us, send me a note or letter, or stop by. You are always welcome.
