The search for Village Council members continues in Donnelsville. “This is the only way this village will survive,” said Mayor Bob Cornwell, “with involved individuals on the Council. We need input from the community. I’d like to see this room packed full with people asking questions.” There were two village residents in attendance at the meeting, both of whom expressed interest in getting involved with Village government. Resident Teresa Alig said that she has been on church councils, and they deal with many of the same issues as Village council. Mayor Cornwell announced that the Village’s old truck had sold on govdeals.com for $10,800.
He also said that the purchaser drove as far as the other side of Indianapolis when the transmission went out. The Mayor also said that the Village’s new truck was done. He is just waiting for the 1962 Ford Tractor that is also for sale on govdeals.com is sold to make room in the garage for it. Council member Joe Taylor said that the Enon Branch of the Clark County Public Library has a copier for sale that would be ideal for the village. Taylor said that the library was asking $500 but would sell it to the Village for only $300. Council voted to give Taylor authority to inspect the copier and purchase it if he believes it is worth the asking price. Donnelsville Village council’s next meeting will be held on December 7, 2009 at the Village offices. Comments (0) |
