Come celebrate the spirit of New Carlisle at our Bicentennial Ball on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 7 to 11 p.m. The ball will be held at the Lake Avenue Christian Church located at 1101 W. Lake Avenue in New Carlisle.

 The ball is the second in a series of signature events occurring throughout our year long

Celebration of our 200th birthday anniversary in which we will be showcasing New Carlisle’s pioneering spirit and the creation of a legacy for future generations.

This is a family event in which all family members including grandmother, grandfather, mom, dad, children and teenagers are cordially invited to come, enjoy and take a trip back in history. Though not required, we invite all to wear period style clothing of any time. Child care will be provided for children 2-10 by the youth of the church at $2.00 per hour. Admission to the ball is by donation and/or a food item, which will be donated to Bethel Churches United Food Pantry.

A few of the highlights of the evening include: refreshments, the crowning of the King and Queen who will reign throughout the year, dancing to the sounds of “The Impossibles,” the Grand March, an old fashion cakewalk, best costume contest, and much, much more.  All who attend will have the opportunity to sign the guess registry which will be kept in the historical archives for our community.

Bicentennial memorabilia will be available for sale, a display of historic pictures of New Carlisle and other artifacts of interest, and a photo shop for you to have your picture taken as a remembrance of this historic event and a keepsake favor. You won’t want to miss this grand event. Mark your calendar and “Save the Date” (February 13) and “Bring your Date” to what is sure to be a first class affair!
