The New Carlisle Bicentennial Committee is sponsoring a Historical Downtown Walk to begin at the First United Methodist Church North Parking lot, Saturday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m.
This will be a guided tour to learn about the platting and layout of old New Carlisle as well as to point out existing historic buildings, earlier significant locations, sites and landmarks and other interesting stories about our town occuring over the past 200 years. Those interested in touring the Manemann Fire Museum located at 311 North Adams Street may do so with tours to begin at 12 Noon and continue through 4:00 p.m. You will find this museum is one of a kind and, no doubt, may be one the best anywhere in the State of Ohio. The Manemann'sĀ have spent a great deal of time traveling the country and the world researching and seeking out very early and unique fire fighting equipment and memorabilia. Ron Manemann has restored many of the fire wagons and other equipment to pristine condition. You will be amazed at the vast collection accumulated by the Manemann's and the condition of artifacts, equipment and other interesting history on site at the museum. Both the walking tour and the fire museum are free events to the public. For additional information you may call 937-845-8774 or 937-654-3342. |
