ALiving History Encampment will be held in Smith Park in New Carlisle During the weekend of  June 5 & 6, 2010. This event which is sponsored by the Bicentennial Committee will allow visitors to see a recreation of frontier life that existed in our area 200 years ago.

Learn about the daily lives and struggles experienced by settlers and Native Americans of the frontier country. Demonstrations of daily activities including tanning hides, dyeing cloth, and cooking on an open fire will occur between 9:00AM and 6:00PM each of the two days.

Featured both days will be the Southern Singers, a Native American Drum group led by Elder Jesse Banks of the Cherokee Nation. They will perform traditional native drumming, singing dancing, and story telling. Come to Smith Park on West Jefferson St. in New Carlisle and see life as it was 200 years ago.
