The New Carlisle Bicentennial Committee will honor the memory of the victims and hero's of 911 on Patriot Day, Saturday, Sept. 11 ,2 p.m. in services conducted at the New Carlisle Library.

The program will also include the dedication of a memorial plaque honoring the memory and sacrifices of our ancestors who braved the perils of the hazardous journey westward into the wilderness to settle and untamed land and build this community in which we live.
Two time capsules, one from the New Carlisle celebration of the USA 1976 Bicentennial and the second from New Carlisle's Bicentennial (2010), will be interred at this event, both to be opened on July 4,2076 on the occasion of the nation's Tercentennial.
The public is encouraged to attend and join in the spirit of this service. We should never forget the sacrifices made by those of our descendents who came before to establish this nation, and those who willingly and courageously have protected the freedoms we all enjoy.
