| BOE Readies For New School Year |

By Nick Frazier Everything is ready to go today for today’s start of the school year according to staff report’s made Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Tecumseh Board of Education meeting. Teachers and staff kicked off the year last Monday with a meeting at the high school gym.  Open houses began as well on Monday, with all elementary buildings holding their sessions Wednesday. One minor problem this year has resulted due to the bridge construction project on Styer Drive which will cause revamping of some of the bus routes. Assistant Superintendant Mike Lucas said that it would take a couple days to get everything running smoothly with the detours, but he didn’t foresee any major troubles. In other action the board: Rehired Russ Steele to teach physics Passed a resolution declaring September Voter Education Month. Passed a resolution which will allow them to form a support committee for the 1.5 percent earned income tax levy in November.  Met in executive session to discuss the results of the Tecumseh Education Association’s contract ratification vote.   The next public meeting will be Wednesday, Aug 25 at 7 p.m. Comments (0) |
