Residents in the neighborhood of 10956 Haddix Road were evacuated from their home last night on a report of explosives devices.

Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies and fire / EMS personnel from Mad River Township responded to the home about 4 p.m. after the resident, Kenneth Puckett, called police stating he had two live hand grenades.
He said a friend had found them while cleaning out the belongings of deceased relatives and he had given them to Puckett. Police arrived at the scene and confirmed they were military style grenades. They evacuated nearby residences and secured the scene.
The bomb squad from Wright Patterson Air Force Base was requested to assist in the disposal of these items.
 Upon their arrival they secured the devices and transported them to a nearby gravel pit where they were detonated without incident.
The scene was rendered safe and area residents were allowed to return home by approximately 7:30 p.m.
