GERALD E. PORTER 82, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011.

He was born May 20, 1929 in Medway, Ohio the son of the late Myron & Helen (Snyder) Porter.

He was a U.S. Army veteran in the Korean Conflict and was a retired farmer.

Gerald is survived by a daughter; Susan Traci (Michael) Pruett of Athens, Georgia; grandchildren, Kerrigan & John Curtis Pruett; sister, Jane (Elmer) Hubka of Terrace Park, Ohio; nieces, Meredith Sasarik, Allison Witherby; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Susan West.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Chapel of Peace, Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.
