CLARENCE “RAY” BLEIGH 83, of New Carlisle, passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Ray was born on March 7, 1928 the son of the late Monie Fay and Robert Lee Bleigh in Centralia, West Virginia. He married his wife, Mary (Nee Nutt) on September 16, 1948 and they remained together until Mary’s death in 1997. Ray worked hard at Dayton Press for 27 years to provide for his wife and daughters. He loved the outdoors and fished and camped extensively in the U.S. and Canada. He often told the story of camping for days along the Cranberry River as a boy, carrying only matches, a blanket and fishing gear. After retiring from Dayton Press Printing, Ray worked for the Tecumseh Schools at Park Layne Elementary. Ray lived with his ever-faithful companion Katy, the Boston Terrier until illness recently overtook him and the Lord decided it was time to come home. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Dave) Long and Connie Bleigh; two grandsons, Shane (Donita) Massing and Seth (Olivia) Massing, other relatives and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR AND FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the funeral home. Burial will be at the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton, West Virginia.
