Bethel Township Trustees in Clark County met last Tuesday evening for their bi-monthly township meeting and discussed many topics on the agenda.

One such topic was a letter of appreciation for medics Mya Mitchell and Chelsea Lipiec written to express an appreciation for how professional the medics were.

Resident Chas Adkins said of the medics: “[They were] the most professional medics I’ve seen. I’ve never seen anyone as good with people as these two”. Adkins went on to say that “If something happens to me, I want them to care for me”.

Assistant Fire Chief Chris Ludwick stated at the meeting that there has been a rise in accidents and injuries in the month of January. The total number of 9-1-1 calls placed this month is up 44 more calls than this time last year.

Ludwick also mentioned that the Fire Department had received 3 new radios from a Republican party convention that are being used to fill necessary positions within the Fire Department.

The Bethel Township Fire Department had three promotions brought to the Trustees during the meeting. Firemen Kevin Reynolds and Jim Downing were promoted unanimously to the rank of Lieutenant for the Fire Department. Lieutenant Nick Carpenter was promoted to the rank of Captain for the Fire Department. Each of the promotions were effective January 24, 2017.

Bethel Township is also experiencing changes with their contract Deputy. Deputy Sheriff Nick Anderson will be taking over protecting and serving the local people.
