Tecumseh FFA students recognized as Outstanding Students for the month of February are (l-r) Ellie Gehret, Thomas Robinson, Lexi Lambert, and Shelley Bailey.

Tecumseh Vo-Ag Instructor Mr. Todd Vehorn has announced the top students for the month of February.

Freshman Ellie Gehret, daughter of Ivan and Deanna Gehret, has participated in district soil judging and parliamentary procedure. She is currently enrolled in Agriculture: Food and Natural Resources. Her other courses include choir, geometry, American History, Spanish, English, and science. Gehret is a basketball cheerleader and parliamentary procedure president. After high school she plans to pursue a degree in education or sports medicine.

Thomas Robinson, son of Mike and Tabby Robinson, is recognized for his work in Mechanical Principles. He is also enrolled in math, government, chemistry, electricity, and English 11. Robinson plans to study chemical engineering after graduating from high school.

Junior Lexi Lambert, daughter of Jason and Lisa Kiger, is the student of the month nominee for the Livestock: Selection, Nutrition, and Management class. She has raised ducks, a pig, and this year’s project, a dairy feeder. Lambert has been awarded the Chapter and Greenhand Degrees. In addition to working part-time at Collier’s Family Restaurant, she is enrolled in advanced courses including chemistry, government, pre-calculus, English, French, and art. Her future goals are to become a pediatrician and have a small farm to raise food for her family.

Shelley Bailey, daughter of Eric and Tina Bailey, is a senior and the secretary of FFA. She is nominated based on her work in Business Management for Agricultural and Environmental Systems. She is also enrolled in another Vo-Ag course, Animal and Plant Science, and has earned the Greenhand Degree. Bailey plans to study nursing after high school; her senior class load includes Child Development, English 12, Global Foods, and math.
