At the December 2, 2015 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners, the commissioners authorized a new program for the Information Systems Director that will allow the county to accept online payments. Two contracts were authorized. The first contract is with Paymenttech, LLC and the second is with Paymentus Corporation. Both contracts were effective November 25, 2015.

For the Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS), the commissioners authorized two contracts for foster care and residential placement for children. First, they authorized a contract with David L. Brown Youth Center for $45,000 effective July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017. Second, they authorized a contract with Eastway Corporation for $40,000 effective December 2, 2015 through June 30, 2015.

In addition, the commissioners authorized a contract with Mental Health Services for Clark and Madison Counties, Inc. for $67,000 to provide on-site child therapist services to the Clark County Child Advocacy Center effective December 2, 2015 through September 30, 2016.

For the Engineer Department, the commissioners authorized the decrease of the contract with American Structurepoint, Inc. by $2,108 for the Derr Road Project for design work. The decrease reflects the actual accrued costs.

For the Utilities Department, the commissioners amended the contract with Miller Pipeline, LLC for the 2014 Sewer and Manhole Rehabilitation Project. They increased the contract by $16,136.65 for a new contract total of $292,599.65. The amendment was needed to add five open cut point repairs, reduce the quantity of 8” cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and increase the quantity of 15” CIPP.

For the Human Resources Director, they authorized the adoption of policies for use of the wellness room. These policies were needed to reflect the changes in the wellness plan that focuses on results rather than participation. The county facility provides various wellness focused classes. The county will no longer pay for classes provided by outside vendors. Participation in the wellness program allows county employees to lower their health insurance premiums.

The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is scheduled for December 9, 2015 in the Clark County Commissioners Conference Room at 8:30 a.m. In addition, at 6:00 p.m., the commissioners will hold the first public hearing on the .5% county sales tax for possible placement on the March 2016 ballot. The current tax is due to expire on June 30, 2016. If the levy is not passed the county will need to evaluate the funding of all projects and services provided by the county.
