CAROL KENNETH BAILEY, 90, of Springfield, died Friday afternoon, June 11, 2010 in Springfield Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born in Pedro, Ohio on September 29, 1919 the son of the late Chester Alan and Hattie Marie (Henry) Bailey.
Ken retired as a tool and die maker from International Trucks following 30 years of service. He also had his own businesses, B & H Machine Shop, C.K. Bailey Landscaping, a nursery, and his family farm. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Judson Class. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of St. Andrews Lodge #619 F. & A.M. His love, life, and support has been an inspiration and changed many lives. One of Ken's memorable statements was, "You can only have what you give to others." Survivors include his three children, Kenneth "Rick" and his wife, Judy Bailey of New Carlisle, Randy and his wife, Nona Bailey of Springfield, and Susan O'Neal of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are the members of the Kushmaul family whom Ken and Viola supported throughout their lives as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend of 66 years, Viola May (Kushmaul) Bailey in 2007; son-in-law, Terry O'Neal on May 10, 2010; three sisters, Violet Hall, Jean Evans, and Kate Warren; and a brother, Chester Alan Bailey. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Ken's funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Chaplain Rick Clos officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Comments (0) |
