Well I surely don't mean our grass that we have now. It is the old saying that the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence.
The envy we have for others who seem to have'-lives going so good with no problems at all. They don't seem to experience any of life's difficulties. They seem to be born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and always coming out on top. It appears that way. It appears that everything seems easy for them. I have seen families myself that I envy. I have thought that they seem to not have any issues and are blissfully happy. Well hello! Come back to earth on that statement! Of course they have problems, and of course they have issues that they have to deal with. It is life. It is the same for them as it is for everyone. They may have smaller issues to handle. I once heard a saying that has stuck with me, "Be kind to all that come across your path, for they too have a burden to carry." We all have burdens to carry, some heavier than others. Dysfunctional families don't we all have that? We all have those in our families that make us that for sure. I think it is rare if you don't have that. It surely makes life interesting. Most of the time, it is not in a good way but it makes life what it is. If we were all the same, and all acted the very same way, life would be boring and plain. It makes us appreciate others who shine brighter. It gives us contrast and appreciation for that which runs smooth without issues and problems. When you look across that fence and see the greener grass, do you see a glass house too? I am sure they don't live in one. That family you see that you envy has problems like we all do. That fancy car that they drive usually has a large payment to go with it. That huge fancy house usually has larger taxes and higher bills. It is not always what it appears to be. All people have burdens to carry and problems to solve. Some hide it better than others. So when you think the grass is greener across the fence, just think they have a larger water bill, or more fertilizer, and just might know tricks to get rid of their weeds. The grass is the same and we all have weeds. Appreciate what you have, even if your grass is a little browner. We need not to let the envy of others take away the power you have to enjoy your own life. It is a natural occurrence, but a waste of time. Take control of your own life to make it healthy, exciting, and worthwhile. Pay some good forward along the way; you'll be glad you did. Â
