The holidays are over, and all the rushing to get things done is over.  We always are trying to find the right gift for that special someone.  We want it to be something they will always remember.  We get caught up in the last minute rush because we ran out of time, and we buy just because we have to.  As I said in one of my previous articles, we can always give things that don’t cost a thing.  It is the gift of giving of ourselves to help another out.
We can make those in our families and friends receive those great gifts all year long.  If we know a person needs help with something, then we can be there to help no matter what time of year it is.  We can practice the giving all year.  There will not be the worry of what to give, because we have given all year to make their world better.  This is what you might give:
TO YOUR SPECIAL FRIEND:  The gift of loyalty.  A promise to be there when no one else is.  You can be there to help pick up the broken pieces or be there to celebrate those special times in their lives.
TO YOUR ENEMY: Yes, your enemy.  You can give them forgiveness.  There are just some who find pleasure in others misfortune … you have to pity them, and forgive … for that is a gift to yourself as well. Then you will be able to release yourself of those bitter feelings and move on.
TO YOUR BOSS:  Service and dedication.  Theses are difficult times, and your efforts can go unnoticed.  I hope you have a boss who appreciates you.  Always do your best anyway, it will make you a better person for doing so.
TO YOUR CHILD:  a good example.  It is not do what I say, not as I do.  They learn what they are around everyday. We can create good examples and give them acceptance, support, and devotion.
TO YOUR PARENTS:  Gratitude and devotion.  It is time to give back to them for all they have done for you.  Cherish the time you have left with them.
TO YOUR SPOUSE or MATE:  Love and devotion.  They might not always be by our side.  We sometimes take special people in our life for granted.  They might be the only person who has shared some of your tragic and wonderful times in your life.  Appreciate them and don’t let one day go by without telling them that you love them.
TO ALL MAN KIND:  Charity.  We so often don’t give the person we pass on the street a kind hello, let alone any help.  Giving charity to those who are not as fortunate as ourselves, is a gift that can also trinkle down to others.  Just a hello when you pass on the street, to a helping hand, can make this a better world for our children and grandchildren.
TO GOD:  Your life.
So instead of worrying what to buy or give next year ,,, give your gift all year long … Pay some good forward … do something nice for someone … even if they know you did it, you’ll be glad you did.  I hope your New Year is a great one.
