A New Carlisle man is in jail tonight on charges related to the fatal overdose of his then girlfriend, Lindsy Allen.

Christopher Wright, 32, Is charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, corrupting another with drugs and felony drug trafficking in heroin.

On July 10, 2015, Clark County Sheriff Deputies and Detectives were dispatched to N. Scott Street in New Carlisle on a possible heroin overdose. When Deputies arrived they located Lindsy Marie Allen deceased inside the residence. Deputies found numerous heroin capsules inside the victim’s bedroom.

In his court filing, Detective Ron Fader states that “the boyfriend of the victim, Christopher R .Wright advised that he last saw the victim alive at approximately 1700 hours. Mr. Wright admitted to shooting heroin inside the bedroom of the victim and, when he awoke, the female victim was unresponsive on her bedroom floor.”

The filing states that Mr. Wright was high at the time and attempted to leave the residence through a back door, but was subsequently stopped by another deputy.

The investigation and the postmortem examination concluded Lindsy Marie Allen’s death was caused by a multiple drug intoxication of heroin, fentanyl and clonazepam.

Clark County Sheriff Detectives, in conjunction with the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office, continued the investigation and ultimately determined that Lindsy Marie Allen obtained the fatal dose of heroin from Christopher Wright. “Upon further investigation” continues Fader, “it has been determined that Christopher R .Wright knowingly supplied the victim with heroin.”

On March 21, a Clark County grand jury returned a 4-count indictment charging Christopher Wright in connection with the July 10, 2015 overdose death of 30-year-old Lindsy Marie Allen.

On March 21, 2016 at 6:25 p.m. Clark County Sheriff Detectives located Christopher Wright in the City of New Carlisle and took him into custody at gunpoint. Christopher Wright was booked into the Clark County Jail and will be arraigned at a later date in Clark County Common Pleas Court.

In Clark County, this is only the second case in which a dealer has been charged in the overdose death of a drug user.

“We hope this is a message to those who furnish drugs to others” said Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly “you will be held accountable.”
