Clark County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 2341 W. National Rd late Monday night on a report of a deceased person along Buck Creek.

An alleged homeless man was found dead at a friend’s campsite along Buck Creek near the old Ohio Edison plant on Monday, September 19.

Dylan Spann, address at large, was found by his friend on Saturday evening.

The friend, Douglas Wilhelm, had been living in the campsite, and Spann wandered in on September 14 stating that he was cold and hungry.

Wilhelm said Spann told him that he had traveled from Tennessee to escape a drug addiction and was on the run from Police. Wilhelm told Spann that he could stay as long as he didn’t use narcotics.

Wilhelm told deputies that he returned to the campsite Monday evening and tried to awaken Spann to give him food. He said that Spann was stiff and cold to the touch.

Detectives responded to the scene. The incident is still under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s office.
