The Clark County Sheriff's Department is investigating a body found along the bike path as a suicide.

The Clark County Sheriff’s office is investigating the body found on New Carlisle's bike path as a suicide.

Lt. Chris Shultz, Head of Criminal Investigations with the Clark County Sheriff's Department stated that there is "nothing to indicate otherwise.”

Shortly before 4pm on Wednesday, April 26, New Carlisle Medics were dispatched to the bike path for “a man down, not breathing with blood coming from his head, possible DOA.”

Initial reports indicate a man had suffered a gunshot to the head.

“I know there were some rumors about a crazed gunman, but that simply is not true” said Shultz Thursday morning.

No further information will be given out by this organization unless the status of the investigation changes.
